World Without End & Endless Footprints \u2013 an autobiography of Akintola Williams<\/a> esquire, and Endless Footprints \u2013 the biography of his lovely wife, Mabel Efuntiloye Williams of blessed memory, are a unique work, which as the author himself declared in his preface are \u201ctwo life stories within one book<\/a> cover\u201d and which to the best of his knowledge has never been done before. But, there is always a first time and we are grateful for the privilege of making a \u2018first\u2019 in this instance. World Without End & Endless Footprints is incisive and nostalgic.<\/p>\n

Chief Akintola Williams (born 9 August 1919) was the first African to qualify as a chartered accountant.<\/h4>\n

He began his education at Olowogbowo Methodist Primary School, Bankole street, Apongbon, Lagos Island, Lagos, in the early 1930s; the same primary school his late junior brother Chief Rotimi Williams attended.<\/p>\n

His firm founded in 1952, later grew organically and through mergers to become the largest professional services firm in Nigeria by 2004.[2] Williams participated in founding the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. During a long career, he has received many honours. He turned 101 in August 2020.<\/p>\n

Akintola Williams was born in 1919. His grandfather, Z.A. Williams, was a merchant prince from\u00a0Abeokuta\u00a0and his father Thomas Ekundayo Williams was a clerk in the colonial service who set up a legal practice in\u00a0Lagos after training in London, England.\u00a0He was the older brother of\u00a0Frederick Rotimi Williams, who later became a distinguished lawyer, and the late Rev. James Kehinde Williams, a\u00a0Christian\u00a0minister.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
